My Story

Emily grew up as a member of a low income immigrant family. With hard work and self-determination, Emily graduated from Morrow high school as a member of the class of 2014. Upon graduation she attended Georgia State University and work multiple jobs while pregnant. Since then she has established a seven figure business and built a real estate portfolio with profits of 100K all by the age of 25 and is the owner of EmShapewear.

She believes in giving back and serves as a mentor for high school students as well as provides scholarships for scholars to attend college. Emily supports local nonprofits and small businesses to community event sponsorships and as well admired and respected by students in the community.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
 
My business is an online e-commerce, but selling fajas, Colombian body shapewear on steroids. LOL just kidding. Colombian fajas were originally created for post op, but women loved the effect of them that they gradually led to women Shapewear. The best feeling of being in this business is the amount of women who feel more confident wearing our shapewear.Getting into this business and learning to deal with customers in my industry was definitely not easy. It’s alot of trial and error. From customers DM’ing us pictures of them half naked! Or customer returning worn shapewear, but sweaty and foul smelling (if you know what I mean.) However, def doesn’t overweigh the benefits from this business.What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that anything is possible. I’m a mom, daughter of immigrants and the journey has been difficult. But I never let where I come from affect me. 

let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

The journey of entrepreneurship is definitely difficult and bumpy roady. My biggest struggles was being around low-energy people. Energy is a huge when I comes to manifesting your dreams. I’d say I’m going x amount of money today, and would because I manifested it into the universe, I believed in it. When I’d speak to friends, family members hoping to hear a positive response, I’d receive low energy, no effort, no excitement. That hurt the most in the beginning.As you go further along in your journey of entrepreneurship, you learn many lessons and how to allow this energy not to affect you. It’s tough but possible
